About Sim Local
Sim Local sits between the online only eSIM sellers and the old airport kiosk. It sells eSIMs through its website and app like everyone else, but it also runs physical stores in a number of international airports where someone will set the thing up for you.
That makes it a useful option for travellers who are not confident installing an eSIM themselves, or who land without having sorted data in advance. It carries plans from a range of networks rather than a single one, so you can compare local options in one place.
What they offer
- Travel eSIMs for individual countries and regions
- Physical SIM cards where eSIM is not an option
- Plans from multiple networks compared side by side
- Staffed stores in selected international airports
- In store setup help if you would rather not do it yourself
- Data, and on some plans calls and texts
How to book with Sim Local
- Search your destination on the site and compare the networks listed
- Buy the eSIM before you fly and install it while you have wifi
- Or walk into a Sim Local airport store on arrival and have it set up for you
- Enable the line when you land and set it as your data connection
Good to know
Why use this over a pure eSIM app?
Mainly the fallback. If the install goes wrong or your phone does not support eSIM, there is a physical SIM and a person at the airport.
Do all airports have a store?
No, only selected ones. Check the store list for your arrival airport before relying on it.
Are physical SIMs still available?
Yes, which is useful for older phones and for some carrier locked handsets.
Can I get calls and texts?
Some plans include them, unlike most travel eSIMs which are data only. It is listed per plan.
